Charity of the Year and current corporate partners - some examples

bibic are delighted to be the chosen charity of a wide range of organisations. Each is helping to raise funds and awareness through an impressive variety of activities. This demonstrates bibic's flexible, innovative, diverse and dedicated approach to charity of the year partnerships. A huge thank you to you all...

Cowlin Construction

Cowlin Construction have chosen to support bibic as their Charity of the Year in 2007.  Staff from Cowlin Construction presented a cheque for £2380 to bibic's Chief Executive, Julie Spencer-Cingöz following a charity raffle and auction that the company conducted recently.

Cowlin MD Bill Badham stated ‘as we are the largest private contractor in the southwest, our staff have the attitude and the abilities to raise monies. Over the years, many worthy causes have benefited from our staffs wish to help others and we are pleased to be able to support bibic throughout 2007.'

Cowlin Construction build upon a strong reputation as one of the leading privately owned regional contractors in the South West and South Wales. Please visit www.cowlin.co.uk for further details.

Sigmer Technologies Ltd

Sigmer Technologies Ltd is launching their Charity of the Year supporting bibic in 2007. Instead of sending corporate Christmas gifts to their clients, Sigmer made a donation of £3,000 - the amount required to support a child for one year at bibic. Sigmer and bibic believe that investing these funds in a child’s future is a lasting gift that all their clients will appreciate. Please click here for an illustration of how a child’s future can be transformed with bibic's help.

Throughout 2007 Sigmer staff will also take part in a range of activities in support of bibic.

Sigmer Technologies provide custom made software applications and IT solutions to the corporate, charity and NGO sectors. Please visit www.sigmer.com for further details.

IPC Media

Following a company-wide vote in 2006, IPC chose bibic as its first charity of the year. In 2007 we decided to continue working with bibic for a further year, and as a result our partnership will continue until the end of 2008.

Company-wide fundraising activities so far have included a 'Money Can't Buy' auction, Christmas card sale, football tournament, wine tasting competition in association with Decanter magazine and numerous raffles and collection days. Some of IPC's magazines, including InStyle, Woman's Own and Woman's Weekly, have also chosen to feature bibic. In 2008 IPC will also be encouraging its employees to take part in a range of fundraising activities to raise money for bibic.

Jane Boswell, IPC Media’s corporate responsibility manager, says: “It's been exciting to work with bibic over the last 18 months and we're looking forward to continuing our partnership throughout 2008 and hopefully raising more funds to help children with learning difficulties. It's also been great to see so many of our employees getting involved and coming up with fundraising ideas."

A mammoth cycling challenge via all their branches is also being planned!

Weststar Holiday Parks

bibic are thrilled that this popular holiday organisation have chosen us as their new charity of the year for 2006 and beyond! Not only will we reach a large target family audience to raise awareness of our work, an exciting schedule of fundraising activity is planned. Each park will hold family fun days, display collection tins, run fundraising competitions and challenges, and encourage staff and guests to join in. Holidays at their outstanding parks will also be donated for bibic to use in fundraising. Sarah Taylor, Operations Manager at Weststar, comments:‘We are all very keen to help make a real difference to bibic and spread the word of the excellent work they do with children with disabilities.’

We have sealed this partnership with a combined strapline: ‘ Weststar Holiday Parks offer very special places to stay, and we also support very special children with very special challenges. Our chosen charity is bibic’

A fabulous £1,000 has already been donated to bibic at their Annual Dinner, and early in the year the RSA Wales and Western Region helped co-ordinate a free seminar at the Millennium Stadium. In April 2006 they also hosted a special black-tie ballet charity gala and dinner. With performances by Swansea's Ballet Russe, a fabulous night was had by all.

Cosyfeet - 2004/5

Cosyfeet, the specialist footwear manufacturer, put its best foot forward when they chose to help bibic with both COY and CRM style support. With an entry in their catalogue (1million distribution), they generously donated 25p for every sale of their best seller, the Eliza Bootee. Other activity saw staff getting involved with a sponsored walk, head shave, raffle and bring-and-buy sale. Customers also made donations, and specialist expertise was shared at management level.
