What are we?
Does it cost anything?
Where do families stay?
Where do we work?
What else can we do?
If you are a parent or carer of a child with a condition and you ask yourself “Is there anything we can do?" then it may be worth speaking to bibic.
bibic is at the forefront of practical family partnerships and through our assessment of your child, we can provide subsequent coaching and mentoring programming for the whole family. We hope to answer some of your concerns and provide practical solutions for you to regain control.
We work with children who may have complex conditions from brain injury to autism, cerebral palsy to challenging behaviour and global developmental delay to ADHD. Even if you are simply not sure of what is possibly wrong, bibic can offer you help and support. We have over 37 years of experience, knowledge and trust.
With guidance, we can show families how to bring out the best in their children, how to build their children's skills and independence in ways that will benefit all their lives, putting the family back in control.

".....after years of being ignored and told that it was all in our heads, someone actually listened, thank you bibic."
Our bibic developmental therapists work with parents and carers on a one to one basis for two days as part of an initial assessment. They forge long relationships with the family helping them cope with a demanding and stressful lifestyle. We support the families and carers through further re-assessment visits, by telephone support, email and regular discussion and information.
Our developmental therapists are highly trained practitioners and have typically spent years in childcare, child development, social work or physiotherapy environments. bibic is a Government Exemplar in aspects of our work with children who have had a traumatic brain injury.
Each bibic developmental therapist works as a member of a small interdisciplinary team and each programme is discussed amongst the whole team in every instance to ensure we have the required outcome based on shared knowledge.
Our core assessments and programmes are non judgemental, supportive and are at no cost to the family apart from an initial £50 administration charge. The core two day assessments are provided at no cost despite the internal cost of £2,489 to bibic. Only specific activities, or identified and selected programmes, may incur a small cost if required.
Whilst we welcome donations from families to help pay for the service, bibic has its own team of skilled fundraisers whose job it is to seek the support for the work to be carried out on the family’s behalf. Many of our families do make an affordable donation, small or large, once they have seen the difference bibic makes to their lives. Some will create interest in supporting bibic with their employers or within their own community but there is never an obligation- it’s your choice.
Families usually stay locally in B&B’s (which we have carefully checked for accessibility and appropriateness) at their own cost whilst attending the two day assessments. We can forward details upon request.
Our long term plans involve building a new short break and respite centre at our national assessment centre in Somerset which will include on-site family accommodation. However, we are currently seeking funding to make this a reality.
bibic is probably working with families in your area, either by them visiting our National Assessment Centre in the West Country or by outreach visits around the UK.
Our families are from all corners of the UK and represent every region. We also support a number of families from outside the UK and we have welcomed families from as far afield as South Africa, Malta, Mexico and Holland within the last few years.

bibic has a wide reach into every community, large or small. We will undertake talks, seminars and training for a suggested donation to cover our costs.
bibic has a mobile sensory vehicle, fully equipped and with its own power supply which can visit schools, hospitals or summer fetes and shows. Just call us and we can suggest a suitable donation to cover our costs.
We host many visitors, health professionals, community groups and undertake tours of the National Assessment Centre at Knowle Hall in Somerset. We are very pleased to operate these to share our knowledge and to spread the understanding that there is something that can be done, and that no family should feel isolated and in despair.
